Welcome to Evergreen Islamic Center's Website!
JazakAllah for taking the time to visit us and learn about this significant SBIA project to build a beautiful masjid in the Evergreen Valley of San Jose. Ambience: More than the structure, more than the brick and the concrete and the steel, what lifts the soul is the serenity of our masjid. Nestled against the hills of the Diablo Range and opening to the pastoral beauty of a countryside, the masjid radiates tranquility. You only have to come to the Fajr prayer to feel your ineffable yearning answered by a loving Creator. Come at any time of day, away from the daily agitations of modern life, and feel the heart settling down to a state of grace. "Then which of the favors of your Lord will you deny?" Project Description: The project comprises an Islamic Center complex, approximately 27,000 sq. ft., and basement storage area of approx. 4,500 sq. ft. for a total build area of 31,500 sq. ft. It comprises a Main Prayer Hall (“Masjid”), Youth Center and School, Class Rooms, Offices and ancillary facilities, located at 2486 Ruby Avenue, in the City of San Jose, California (“Property”). The proposed building(s) will be a combination of concrete and steel frame construction. The project will be completed in three (3) phases as follows:
- Phase 1 is the Site Preparation including tree removal, partial grading, curb & gutter, bioswales, and retaining wall. Phase 1 is 80% complete. Remaining activities will be done as part of Phase 2.
- Phase 2 is the Street Improvement and construction of 7,100 sq. ft. masjid with 4,500 sq. ft. basement for a total build area of 11,600 sq. ft.
- Phase 3 is the Youth Center and Islamic School construction. It includes hall, class rooms, imam quarter, kitchen and minaret. This phase of the project will be implemented based on community's needs and requirements, availability of funds and SBIA Board approval.
